I’m still not crazy about ZSJL being broken into an HBO Max miniseries. For me to accept it, it absolutely would have to truly be Zack’s idea, and I still want the movie released on disk as a film. But that said, I have to admit that in 1977 I was utterly mesmerized by what Francis Ford Coppola did with his The Godfather Saga 4 episode miniseries which added footage from his rough cut. It’s actually my preferred way of watching the two films together. So after getting over the initial shock of this miniseries possibility for release of ZSJL, by remembering this I’m in a little bit better place about it psychologically, should that indeed be what comes to pass.

Actually, after skimming the Wikipedia article it was probably the shorter version that combined the two films that aired in 1981 that I watched. But anyway, I thought it was sensational, I really loved it.
